Giveback Blend Journal Entry — Post Coffee Company x Variety KC

Hello! I’m Katie Holland, co-owner of Post Coffee Company and Goat Hill Coffee & Soda. While coffee is now a huge part of my everyday life, many people don’t know that I spent over 16 years working full-time as an occupational therapist. I still see a few incredible kiddos each week outside of my responsibilities at Post, and that work continues to be one of my greatest joys.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many remarkable children and families — each one leaving a lasting impact on who I am. Our collaboration with Variety KC, part of Variety Children’s Charity, holds a deeply personal meaning for me because of one extraordinary client: Molly.

Meet Molly — The Inspiration Behind Our Partnership

Molly had cerebral palsy, and she radiated joy everywhere she went. Her smile made every room brighter, and she had a way of speaking through her eyes that made everyone around her feel seen and loved. She was truly one of a kind.

Molly passed away in 2021 at the age of 15, but the impact she left on my life — and on the lives of so many others — will never fade.

Variety KC played a significant role in giving Molly the freedom to explore her world. They funded her wheelchair and van lift, adaptive equipment that allowed her to enjoy outings with her family and experience greater independence. Their work continues to change the lives of countless children with cognitive and physical disabilities by providing the therapies, adaptive equipment, and opportunities they deserve.

If you’ve visited the inclusive playground at the Kansas City airport, you may have even seen Molly on the banner there — her bright smile is impossible to forget.

Introducing the Giveback Blend

Beginning this Giving Tuesday and continuing throughout 2026, we’re honored to partner with Variety KC.

Ten percent of every bag of our Giveback Blend will be donated directly to their organization to support incredible kids like Molly.
